My astrologically attuned friends cautioned against any electronic purchases or tech ventures while Mars was in retrograde. What what? From what I gather, mars in retrograde is like a celestial circuit breaker blowout plus an intergalactic server upgrade replete with massive time-outs and crashes which force all the constellations being on hold or engaged in frustrating conversations with inept tech support reps. I dismissed it as hocus pocus, but seeing as my point and shoot camera was stolen, narrowly avoided that 1wayphoto scam, and now my useless webhost www.ipower.com “upgraded” my account–maybe there’s something to this. Someone should really let Steve Jobs know this is not a good time to announce the second generation iphone…

The upgrade resulted in Lunamania, Photoweenie and email going down. After several late nights and many annoying hours of indignant IMing with “24 hr online tech support” I FIXED EVERYTHING MYSELF. That’s because NO ONE from ipower ever actually followed up as they said they would. Thanks for nothing to all the tech jerks at ipower!
So maybe I should take this mars in retrograde thing more seriously…
