To be precise, this is the year of the white tiger. According to Western science, white tigers are a genetic anomaly. The lunar calendar deems them a jinx and portends a year long shit storm. Making matters worse, this is my third cycle (36 years) and I’m not sure what exactly is supposed to happen, but it’s apparently no good.Thanks to the beauty of the internet and suspension of my general rule that all information is not equal, I’ve convinced myself of veracity of the following:
“Being the Tiger’s own year, 2010 holds great promise for those born under this sign, with exciting developments happening for them both personally and professionally. Some Tigers may be feeling disappointed and disheartened after 2009 and it will be important to leave the past behind and concentrate on the future, which is looking so bright!”

The iPhone doesn’t capture the furious flurries blowing horizontally
across the way. It also doesn’t show the cozy cafe I just stepped out
from after drinking waaaaay too much coffee (the price of having to
seek Internet access outside the comforts of my apt…)
If this storm weren’t keeping me from long planned meetings and a
weekend at home, it’d actually feel quite magical rather than
diabolical.
It’s the small things that make me happy.
